Internal Microsoft partner programmes require it for headcount counts. Occasionally satisfies non-technical audit checkboxes in public-sector frameworks. Does NOT unlock engineering roles, shortlisting preference or pay uplift in any UK cloud market segment.

AZ-900 is the right cert for one specific person: someone with zero cloud exposure who needs a starting point and a one-page revision plan. Pass it in a fortnight of evenings and you've got the vocabulary to follow Azure conversations and a credible 'I'm serious about cloud' line on the CV. Outside that use it's noise. If you've already got hands-on AWS or any sysadmin background, skip straight to AZ-104. AZ-900 next to AZ-104 looks like padding. Next to nothing it looks like a starting move.
