The syllabus is genuinely operational, not a tour of marketing material. Take it when you're already in an Azure data engineering seat and the next move is senior data engineer or platform lead in a Microsoft-aligned shop. Skip it as a generalist data cert. The market has moved decisively toward Databricks and Snowflake portfolios, and a public dbt or Spark project carries further on a CV than the Microsoft badge does outside the Azure footprint.
